Alberto Heimler

Alberto Heimler was Professor of Economic Regulation at the Italian National School of Government (SNA) until 2026. From 1994 to 2024, he chaired the OECD Working Party on Competition and Regulation and served as Vice-Chair of the OECD Competition Committee. Since the entry into force of the Italian antitrust law, he held senior positions at the Italian Competition Authority, where he was responsible for research, international affairs and institutional relations (all at once). Before joining the Authority, he was responsible for industrial policy at the Confindustria Research Centre (CSC) from its establishment. His academic work on antitrust, economic regulation, public procurement, and applied economics has appeared in leading academic journals in Italy and internationally.
