Tommaso Santini is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH). He received his PhD in Economic Analysis from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics. His research focuses on economic growth, with particular interests in automation and agglomeration.

In a new paper, Joseph Emmens, Dennis C. Hutschenreiter, Stefano Manfredonia, Felix Noth, and Tommaso Santini find that when competitors for the same pool of workers share investors, they increase their innovation to automate tasks and slow down hiring.
