Joseph Emmens is a Postdoctoral Associate at MIT FutureTech and Affiliate Researcher at ROCKWOOL Foundation Berlin. His research combines theory, text analysis, and causal inference to study how teams, firms, and institutions produce scientific and technological innovations. More broadly, his research sheds light on the dynamics of innovation, offering insights for policy, R&D management, and the organisation of science. Before joining FutureTech, Joseph earned his PhD in Economics from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Barcelona School of Economics.
