Effective September 1, 2026, Dr. Celso Brunetti will join the University of Rome Tor Vergata as Professor of Econometrics. He currently serves as Assistant Director in the Division of Research and Statistics at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. His research focuses on financial stability, banking, financial networks, market microstructure, climate risk, and commodity markets. He has published extensively in leading finance and economics journals, including the Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Econometrics, Econometrics Journal, and Journal of Financial Markets.
Before joining the Federal Reserve, Dr. Brunetti held faculty appointments at Johns Hopkins University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Edinburgh, where he taught statistics, corporate finance, derivatives, and financial risk management. He also served as a consultant to the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission from 2008 to 2011 and was a Visiting Professor at Bocconi University in 2017.
Dr. Brunetti received a B.A. in Economics and Banking from the Catholic University of Milan, an M.Sc. in Economics from Bocconi University, and a Ph.D. in Economics from Queen Mary University of London.
