Yoan Hermstrüwer is a professor of Legal Tech, Law and Economics, and Public Law at the University of Zurich. His research combines behavioral economics, experimental methods, and machine learning to study legal institutions and market design. He also draws on economic theory and experimental data to study how allocation mechanisms—in school choice, refugee resettlement, or childcare assignment—can be designed to balance efficiency, fairness, and incentive compatibility. His work appears across law, economics, psychology, and computer science venues, including The Economic Journal, Games and Economic Behavior, ICLR, and the NYU Journal of Law and Liberty.
