Xi Wu

Xi Sissi Wu is an assistant professor in the Accounting Group at Haas School of Business, University of California Berkeley. Her work focuses on the intersection of regulation, disclosure, and the digital economy. Her current research centers on how internal and external governance mechanisms shape firm decision-making and capital market outcomes and how to use newly available data to value digital assets and intangible capital. Prior to joining UC Berkeley, Professor Wu received her PhD in Accounting from NYU’s Stern School of Business, and a BA in Economics and Mathematics from Cornell University.

In new research, Grace Fan, Trung Nguyen, and Xi Wu show how improvements in government data transparency and disclosure through the public rollout of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Environmental Justice Screening and Mapping Tool enabled civil society to identify and hold polluters responsible and improve overall environmental justice.
