Verena Hitner Barros is an economist and senior public official specializing in industrial, technological, and innovation policy. She is Director at Brazil’s Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI). Previously, she served as Executive Secretary of the National Council for Industrial Development (CNDI), where she coordinated the Nova Indústria Brasil strategy, and has worked as a consultant to the FAO and as a government advisor in Ecuador.
