Simon C. Smith

Dr. Simon C. Smith is a Senior Economist at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C., where he has served in the Prices and Wages section since the beginning of 2020.  Prior to this position, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Economics at the University of Southern California, working under the supervision of Professor M. Hashem Pesaran.  Smith’s research interests span financial economics, macroeconomics, and time-series econometrics.  His work has been published in numerous internationally leading journals, awarded substantial prizes and grants, and covered by a range of visible media outlets such as the Wall Street Journal.  Dr. Smith holds a PhD in Financial Economics from the University of Bristol.
