Grace Haoqing Fan

Grace Haoqing Fan is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Singapore Management University. She studies the economic effects of accounting disclosure and regulation, with research interests in public-sector accounting, environmental and social regulation, artificial intelligence, and valuation. She holds a PhD in Accounting from INSEAD and her work has been published in The Accounting Review. Before academia, she worked in auditing, banking, and equity research.

In new research, Grace Fan, Trung Nguyen, and Xi Wu show how improvements in government data transparency and disclosure through the public rollout of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Environmental Justice Screening and Mapping Tool enabled civil society to identify and hold polluters responsible and improve overall environmental justice.
