R. Alexander Bentley

Alexander (Alex) Bentley is Professor of Anthropology at University of Tennessee, where he is also the Director of the Computational Social Science Program. Before moving to Tennessee, Bentley spent fourteen years working at universities in the United Kingdom, from postdoctoral researcher at University College London to Associate Professor at Durham University and finally Professor at University of Bristol. Bentley uses computational social science to help understand the deep past and near future of cultural evolution, which is the subject of his upcoming book with Bloomsbury Press in 2025.
